In order for any type of business to stay in business and continue to serve the customers, it must make a profit. Did you know that on average, food cost of a regular restaurant is about 30-35% of the gross sales. But in a buffet restaurant the food cost jumps to 45-50%. A large part of the difference is due to the waste of uneaten food. Almost all customers don’t mean to waste any food, but in most cases the customers take too much food from the buffet line. That is why we urge our customers to take small amounts from the buffet line and go back for more as many times as needed. We will do our best to constantly refill the food so the food will not run out.
Here are some tips on how to enjoy a good buffet.
- Try not to come to a buffet too hungry. If you’re too hungry, you usually eat too fast and don’t get to enjoy all the different food.
- Take a tour around to see what is available and make plans on what you are going to eat.
- Start out with some salad to get your stomach working.
- First plate after the salad should be light (like a sampler)
- Give your self some time between trips to the buffet line.
- Limit your self to drinks, rice and noodle, for they can fill you up real fast.
- Always leave room for deserts. Something sweet will help you to digest the food better.
- When barbequing, remember “low and slow” cook in low heat and cook it slow!
- So please! Eat as much as you can, but please help us from wasting good food.
